A Year for Reflection
The year 2008 is almost over. Amidst much concern about our financial system and all those paper losses, I need to reflect on what I find most dearfamily and friends. Thank you for being there where we can keep in touch electronically, where we can play tennis, do aerobics, play bridge, read, write, paint, teach and all those other things many of us enjoy together.
An art exhibition of all new experimental water media paintings by Mary Montague Sikes is on view now in the Mezzanine at Petersburg Regional Art Center, 132 North Sycamore St., Petersburg. The Center is part of the Friday for the Arts events, December 12, 2008.

Books Make Great Gifts!
Over the past few years we have enjoyed traveling to many exotic locations. In all my Passenger to Paradise books, Ive included sights Ive seen and situations Ive experienced while traveling. You can learn about them by reading my novels. Hearts Across Forever is set in Jamaica, a location weve visited more than a dozen times. At Rose Hall Great House, I felt the ghostly presence of the white witch, so she had to be part of my book. In  Eagle Rising, Id walked the trails of the Sedona vortexes and listened to the chants of old Indians sitting by the medicine wheels. Of course, I needed to include those events in my book. Secrets by the Sea was a special story for me to write. Since all the islands of the Caribbean have enchanted me, it was difficult to select one as the setting for this book. But charming English Harbor and the islands long history drew me to Antigua where mystery and intrigue dominate the story.
