Sikes Book Signing William and Mary Barnes & Noble June 1, 2 to 6 p.m. Author
and artist Mary Montague Sikes will meet readers and sign books at the
William and Mary Barnes & Noble on Duke of Gloucester Street in
Williamsburg on Friday, June 1 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Her latest novels, A Rainbow for Christmas, Jungle Jeopardy, Secrets by the Sea, and Night Watch will be available for purchase. In April, A Rainbow for Christmas,
won first place for young adult books, fiction in the Virginia Press
Women 2012 Communications Contest and is part of the National Federation
of Press Women 2012 Communications Contest. Winners of that competition
will be announced at the National Conference, September 20-22 in
Scottsdale AZ. A Rainbow for Christmas
takes place in 1869 on a wagon train traveling from Missouri to Denver,
Colorado. Dairies written by brave women who endured numerous hardships
as they helped settle the West inspired Sikes to write her book. Jungle Jeopardy is
an adventure story set among fictitious Maya ruins in Central America
and is based on trips Sikes has taken to ruins in Palenque and in
Chichen Itza in Mexico. Characters from Sikes� 2009 novel Secrets by the Sea
head out on a new search for a priceless coin, the Brasher doubloon and
discover danger and unexpected mysteries in the jungle. Jungle Jeopardy, Secrets by the Sea, and Night Watch are part of the Passenger to Paradise exotic destinations book series.
