Free Signed Original Art Card with Book Purchase

Come visit the Williamsburg Farmers Market on Duke of Gloucester Street and meet author and artist Mary Montague Sikes at the nearby William and Mary Barnes & Noble Bookstore on Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. With each book purchase, Sikes will give away a free signed original art card, suitable for framing.

Her award-winning young adult novel A Rainbow for Christmas takes place in 1869 on a wagon train traveling from Missouri to Denver, Colorado. Dairies written by brave women who endured numerous hardships as they helped settle the West inspired Sikes to write her book. In April, A Rainbow for Christmas, won first place for young adult books, fiction in the Virginia Press Women 2012 Communications Contest and now is part of the National Federation of Press Women 2012 Communications Contest. Winners of that competition will be announced at the National Conference, September 20-22 in Scottsdale AZ.

Be swept away by adventure in an Indiana Jones-style journey that explores fictitious Maya ruins in Guatemala. Based on trips Sikes has taken to ruins in Palenque, Cozumel and Chichen Itza, Jungle Jeopardy features characters from her earlier novel Secrets by the Sea.
