2012 National Juried All-Media Art Show

"Will There Be Peace Anywhere?" a mixed water media painting by artist Mary Montague Sikes has been selected for the 2012 National Juried All-Media Exhibition, opening on Friday, October 12, 7 p.m. at Petersburg Regional Arts Center.

This exhibition, the first of its kind in nearly 18 years of operation by the Arts Center, was designed to expand PRAC’s audience nationally and to continue to bring quality artwork and artists to the Petersburg/Richmond area. Sixty-five artists were selected from North Carolina, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, DC, Alabama, West Virginia, Florida, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, California, Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia.

The exhibition will run from October 12 – November 3, 2012 in the Main Gallery and was juried by Samantha May, Gallery Director of Hillyer Art Space in Washington, DC. Meet the juror during the opening reception on Friday, October 12, at 7 pm. During the awards ceremony, PRAC will award $1200 in prizes, including a $500 Best in Show Award, a $400 2nd Place Award, and a $300 3rd Place Award.

Book Signing William and Mary Barnes and Noble, Duke of Gloucester Street, Williamsburg, VA, Saturday, Oct. 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Author Mary Montague Sikes will meet readers and sign books at the William and Mary Barnes & Noble from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 13. She is promoting her adventure stories, Secrets by the Sea and Jungle Jeopardy.

Customers who purchase her books will received a free signed art note card of the Jungle Jeopardy parrot, the Williamsburg Inn, or another art scene.
