Another year has gone by ever so quickly. I wish all of you a happy and prosperous new year in 2014.

When I looked at my little calendar book for 2013, I realized what an exciting and busy year it turned out to be.

Here are some of the most important events for 2013:

"Thank You, Fielding Lewis" and "A Connection with George Washington" are my work.

  •  Daddy's Christmas Angel won first place in the Virginia Press Women 2013 Communications Contest and third place in the National Federation of Press Women 2013 Contest
  •  "Sedona", an acrylic/canvas painting and "Once Upon a Night Sky" were cash award winners in juried shows at PRAC
  •  Speaker/guest of Bobbie Wyker at the Urbanna Book Club which featured Daddy's Christmas Angel for their October meeting.
  •  Also, speaker for Abingdon Woman's Club, Gloucester Rotary, West Point Rotary, book signings at William and Mary Barnes & Noble, art demonstrations at Tides Inn, and two radio appearances on the Neal Steele show for CBW
  •  Also, I participated in artist workshops including Pat Dews' Water Media (April) in Boone, NC and Karen Eide Encaustics (Sept.)
  •  Glacier National Park family trip (July) with many photo ops for future artwork

Upcoming Workshops for January and February 2014

  •  Mixed Water Media, Jan. 25, 1 to 6 p.m. and Jan. 26, 1 to 5 p.m., This Century Art Gallery Education Center, Williamsburg. This is a fun class with lots of experimenting with intense watercolors. You will never work the same again.

ยท Creating with Color and Texture, Feb. 8 and 15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Arts on the Main, Gloucester. Students will use a variety of materials to create texture for paintings on both paper and canvas.

Upcoming Luncheon Event March 21, 2014

York River Circle of King's Daughters will feature author Roger Loring and me as speakers.
